Please do not send passwords, bank details, or other highly sensitive information through the contact form or routine messages unless there is a clear reason to do so.

What information may be collected
- basic contact details such as your name, email address, phone number and preferred contact method;
- enquiry details such as the service you need, location, device or system details, issue description and preferred timing;
- job records such as quotes, appointment notes, work carried out, parts used, invoices, receipts and payment status;
- files or images you choose to send, such as screenshots or photos relevant to the job;
- limited technical and security data used to help run and protect the website and contact form.
How your information may be used
- to reply to your enquiry and provide a quote;
- to arrange, manage and carry out work;
- to keep job records, issue invoices and manage payments;
- to provide reasonable aftercare and deal with follow-up questions;
- to protect the website, contact form and business systems from spam, misuse or security issues;
- to deal with complaints, insurance matters or legal obligations where needed.
Section 16 Techworks does not sell your personal information.
Who information may be shared with
Information is only shared where there is a proper reason. This may include website and hosting providers, email and communications providers, payment providers, accountants or bookkeeping tools, suppliers or manufacturers where parts or warranty support are needed, and professional advisers or authorities where disclosure is required.
If you contact Section 16 Techworks through services such as WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram, your information will also be subject to the privacy practices of those platform providers.
How long information may be kept
- general enquiries that do not become a job are usually kept for up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact;
- quotes and routine correspondence are usually kept for up to 12 months;
- customer job and payment records are kept for as long as reasonably needed to run the business and meet tax, accounting, insurance and legal requirements;
- records needed for Self Assessment and core business record-keeping may be kept for at least 5 years after the 31 January submission deadline for the relevant tax year;
- security and anti-spam logs are usually kept for a shorter period unless they are needed to investigate misuse or protect the business.
How information is kept safe
Reasonable technical and organisational steps are used to reduce the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure. Access to customer information is kept to what is genuinely needed to run the business and provide support.
No internet-based system can ever be guaranteed 100% secure, but sensible steps are taken to use reputable providers and practical safeguards.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your information, ask for incorrect information to be corrected, ask for information to be erased in some situations, object to certain uses, or ask for processing to be restricted.
